Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Video Contest 2015

Rules and Regulations
 

1. The contest is open to 7th grade students who attend Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac public and private middle schools. Teams of students may work on a video, but each team may contain a maximum of four members. Entrants may not be involved in more than one video submission.

 

2.One Registration Form must be completed and submitted by mail or email for each video submitted. One Parental Medial Release Form must be filled out and submitted for each youth featured in the video or participating in the production. Forms must be completed and returned to Fond du Lac Association of Commerce prior to youth participation.

3. Each submitted video should be two minutes in length.

 

4. Each submitted video should address the following topic “If You Care You Will NOT Share” as this relates to prescription medications. The goal of the video is to educate other students about the dangers of misusing prescription medications and why sharing medications must be avoided.


5. Participants should use creativity to present their topic with a focus on improving community awareness and/or educating the viewer. Feel free to use music, pictures, art, skits, etc. to portray your message/s.


6. Include the names of all youth participating in the production of your video in the video credits. Please include the group name and your school (this will not be considered a part of the allotted two minutes).


7. All video submissions MUST be produced by students without professional assistance or help with editing. You may use any type of video device to record videos. The videos can be in any format (e.g. testimonial, comedy, drama, documentary, animated, still art or live action). Videos can be in any language, but must have English subtitles if not in English.


8. Videos must NOT contain:
        - Material that violates, or infringes on, another’s rights, including, but not limited to privacy, 

           publicity, and intellectual property.
        - Copyrighted material (such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs) without

           necessary authorizations.
        - Material that is indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, slanderous or libelous.
        - Videos containing any material deemed inappropriate will be disqualified from the

          competition. The judges have the discretion to disqualify any video submission.

 

9. Teams or individuals wishing to enter the contest should upload their video to the Team SAP You Tube Channel by clicking on the “Upload Video” link on the contest website. This will take the participant to the Team SAP You Tube Channel page where their video can be uploaded by clicking on the upload icon.  A gmail account is needed to upload the video.

 

10. The deadline to upload videos for participation in the contest is 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.


11. A panel of judges will review all submitted videos and a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher will be selected. All winners will be required upon request to provide proof of current address or school affiliation.

 

                        **Videos will be judged on content, creativity and educational value. **


12. The schools of the teams placing first, second and third place in the video competition will receive a cash reward of $500, $300 and $200 respectively. Individual prizes will be awarded to all team members of the first, second and third place winning videos.
